Project Engineer

Lead engineering and technical support to help ensure safe, efficient, and high-performing plant processes, equipment, and products at Huber Engineered Woods LLC in Commerce, GA.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of the plant’s capital investment plan through all planning and implementation phases
• Develop and maintain the capital project forecast in coordination with the Plant Controller to support accuracy and timely forecast development
• Implement and ensure adherence to change management procedures for capital investment and process project changes
• Optimize existing processes and products, and evaluate new process and product opportunities in coordination with HEW Sector personnel across home and non-home locations
• Maintain and further develop Preventative and Predictive Maintenance Programs
• Participate in Factory Mutual Audits and support implementation of findings through capital project development
• Act as a subject matter expert for inspections with authorities having jurisdiction for equipment under local and state jurisdictional inspections
• Recommend and approve equipment, equipment modifications, and vendor and contractor selections for assigned projects and maintenance work
• Set objectives and priorities for approved projects and maintenance work
• Approve operation and maintenance procedures for new and existing plant processes
• Perform general physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, including moving the whole body and multilimbed coordination

Requirements

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 5-7 years experience in a plant environment, including hands-on experience with vendors, contractors, and other sites
• Knowledge of basic computer software and related skills
• Knowledge of process control and automation (desirable)
• Maintain current understanding of the latest national standards for operations, maintenance, and repair of cranes to help ensure HEW meets these standards

Compensation

• $60,000 - $105,000 per year
