Job Description

ALPLA Inc. is seeking a QA Engineer to provide quality engineering support across product development, data analysis, and QA procedures at its McDonough, Georgia operations. The role encompasses CMM programming, audits, CAPA and RCA activities, and close collaboration with Packaging Management and Process Technician teams across the Technical Center and production sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support quality engineering for product development within the Technical Center.
  • Deliver timely and accurate testing data for fresh samples.
  • Conduct statistical analyses and generate reports on dimensional, functional, and visual attributes using tools such as Minitab to inform project teams.
  • Develop CMM programs and train QA technicians in creating, debugging, and maintaining CMM programs and measurement systems.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all data collected by QA technicians.
  • Identify root causes for abnormalities and out of specification results.
  • Perform FMEA using standard quality engineering methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Packaging Management and Process Technician teams on QA related qualification procedures for new product implementations at internal TC and external ALPLA production sites.
  • Understand EBM and ISBM technologies along with DFM and DOE principles.
  • Apply tolerance stack analysis and quality engineering principles, providing feedback to Design, PDM, and Process teams.
  • Execute quality tasks as part of product qualification procedures at ALPLA production sites.
  • Conduct color analysis using color analysis software.
  • Assist with advanced troubleshooting of testing equipment and related programming issues at production sites.
  • Develop and validate testing procedures for new methods used internally at the Technical Center and externally at production sites.
  • Conduct department and process audits with experience in ISO and FSSC 22000 regulatory compliance or equivalent.
  • Assist in managing and monitoring QATC KPIs and SPC systems.
  • Manage and support CAPA and RCA processes.
  • Contribute to ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 implementation and audit programs.
  • Develop DOEs for new sampling plans, new test methods (internal and external requests), and CAPAs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • 5 to 8 years of quality experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment such as calipers, scales, digital height gauges, and compression force testers.
  • Multitasking ability with solid organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Strong computer and mathematical skills; solid statistical knowledge.
  • ISO auditing certification (internal or external), ASQ QE certificate, or equivalent.

Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in Minitab or equivalent data analytics software; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VBA, Macros, formulas); knowledge of SPC software
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
