QA Engineer (NQA-1)

Responsibilities

• Ensure that engineering, procurement, dedication and qualification, and manufacturing activities meet ASME NQA-1 requirements for items and services supplied to nuclear facilities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain an NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program.
• Review project deliverables, procurement requisitions, and quality verification documents to confirm alignment with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and perform internal and external vendor audits as an NQA-1 auditor.
• Identify, evaluate, and track nonconforming items or processes, and develop or maintain corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Ensure adherence to nuclear quality frameworks such as 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR21.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent military experience. Degree not required for candidates with 5+ years of NQA-1 experience.
• 2 to 5+ years of experience in NQA-1 Quality Assurance.
• Willingness to pursue Lead Auditor certification (preferred but not required).
• Deep knowledge of NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, 10CFR Part 21, and industry standards such as EPRI and IEEE.
• Strong technical writing, collaboration, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Occasional travel for audits and surveys.
