Licensed Electrical Engineer opportunity in Cedar Rapids, IA, focused on leading electrical design for industrial projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering design documents, code research, and Revit models.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical systems for industrial facilities, covering power distribution, LED and custom lighting design, life safety, and data/communications networks.
- Lead the electrical design and production efforts across multiple projects.
- Consult with clients to align project goals and provide updates on progress.
- Work both independently and as part of the electrical design team.
- Coordinate cross discipline activities on diverse projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers through design and production phases.
- Prepare project specifications and conduct code research.
- Travel to project sites to document current conditions; some travel required.
- Perform construction observation to verify quality, monitor progress, and ensure conformance with the electrical design contract.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize workload with meticulous attention to detail.
- Engage across Industrial, Institutional, Commercial, Education, Government and Healthcare markets.
- Support marketing and business development efforts to grow regional, national, and local client relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program, or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Iowa or eligible to obtain licensure within 12 months.
- Experience designing lighting, power, and low voltage systems for buildings and sites.
- 3D modeling experience; Revit knowledge is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Some client sites require drug and alcohol testing; candidates must pass pre-assignment tests where required.
