Security Engineer I , Stores Security- Healthcare Security

Amazon Healthcare Security (HealthSec) is looking for a Security Engineer to help safeguard Amazon Healthcare’s services and underlying infrastructure. This role is based in Seattle, WA and works onsite, with a focus on identifying security risks, designing mitigation approaches, and embedding security controls into operational environments.

You will contribute to both proactive and responsive security work, including architecture and workflow reviews, risk assessments, and incident support. A key part of the position involves using automation to improve monitoring and alerting for important security signals while keeping security documentation up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews of network architecture, automation tools, and infrastructure
• Perform risk assessments and identify security vulnerabilities in workflows
• Implement security best practices across network security, identity management, and secure system deployment
• Partner with product development teams to integrate security controls
• Support security incident investigations related to infrastructure
• Develop and maintain security documentation, including threat models, risk assessments, and security guidelines
• Drive security automation efforts, including monitoring and alerting for key security risks

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation experience (non-internship)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or an equivalent approach
• Experience solving basic problems by writing code or scripts with some assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings

Compensation and Location

• Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 136,000 - 184,000 per year
• Experience level: 2 years minimum
