Job Description

Salesforce is seeking a Security Engineer (Senior/Lead) to strengthen security across the platform, protecting both infrastructure and customer-facing applications. In this onsite role in San Francisco, CA, you will work across new and evolving systems to incorporate security from the ground up and support the organization as it scales.

This position focuses on hands-on security engineering, including security reviews, threat modeling, and building tooling that helps teams find and address vulnerabilities efficiently.

Role summary

As a Senior/Lead Security Engineer, you will safeguard the platform and customers by developing security controls across infrastructure and application code. The work includes security reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability scanning and monitoring, remediation support, and assistance with compliance and audit efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security reviews and perform threat modeling for new features and systems.
  • Build and maintain security tooling, including vulnerability scanning and monitoring.
  • Partner with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and harden systems.
  • Support compliance and audit efforts as the platform scales.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience.
  • Experience in application or infrastructure security engineering.
  • Familiarity with common security frameworks and threat modeling practices.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation tooling.
  • Agentic Engineer experience securing and reviewing AI-assisted development workflows built with Claude and similar tools, including agent loops and tool use.

Preferred skills and experience

Location and compensation

  • Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 172,500 - 285,800 per year
