Job Description

The Semiconductor Process Engineer will oversee epitaxial growth and process optimization in a high-volume, 24/7 production environment, applying materials science expertise to MOVPE processes in Phoenix.

Location

Phoenix, AZ (onsite)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine epitaxial growth recipes, analyzing materials characterization data to enable new processes and drive optimization
  • Establish SPC methods and monitor reactor metrics to boost production yield and track process capability for continuous improvement
  • Lead reactor troubleshooting and analyze production failures, authoring and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Create, document, and approve SOPs and work instructions for reactor management and maintenance activities
  • Perform, oversee, schedule, and document all reactor maintenance tasks
  • Develop and maintain the reactor schedule for production and maintenance activities
  • Synthesize findings into detailed reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with groups such as business development, quality, characterization and operations to support business growth
  • Contribute to the development of company intellectual property

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in materials science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of epitaxial growth experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Direct MOVPE experience preferred
  • Understanding of electronic and optical device physics
  • Knowledge of SPC principles and software packages
  • Hands-on experience performing reactor maintenance
