About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to advance Amplitude's AI products and the foundations they rely on. As AI reshapes how customers analyze data, build products, and act on insights, you will blend deep technical work with product judgment to ship AI capabilities that customers and internal teams rely on. This role is both visionary and hands-on: you will identify where AI delivers the most leverage, build the systems that deliver it, and establish patterns that let the rest of the company move faster on top of your work. You will contribute to customer facing AI products, the platform infrastructure beneath them, and the internal tooling that helps Amplitude operate as an AI native company.

Our Values

  • Humility: We operate with empathy and openness, seeking to understand many points of view.
  • Ownership: We take initiative to solve problems that drive our shared success.
  • Growth Mindset: We persist through challenges and seek feedback to grow ourselves and others.
  • Customer Centricity: The customer sits at the center of everything we do, and their success is our priority.

How You Think & Work

  • Leverage mindset: View AI as a way to reshape how teams and customers plan, decide, and execute, not merely as a feature add-on.
  • Context is key: Ground AI in real data, workflows, and decisions to maximize impact.
  • Vision leads utility: Balance listening to users with proactively delivering forward looking solutions.
  • Build to learn: Favor rapid iteration, usage based validation, and continuous improvement over upfront perfection.

What Sets You Apart

  • Highest leverage problem identification: Consistently spot high value opportunities and focus effort with data.
  • Systems thinking: Connect disparate tools, data sources, and teams into cohesive AI powered experiences.
  • Hands on design and implementation of agentic systems: Build robust agentic workflows with strong context handling, orchestration, tool use, and evaluation.
  • Build vs. buy judgment: Know when to reuse existing solutions or build from scratch.
  • Driving adoption & evangelism: Get capabilities into users' hands, onboard effectively, and iterate from feedback.
  • Product thinking: Combine technical execution with product intuition to craft AI experiences users love.
