The Senior Analytics Engineer role is based in Los Angeles, CA with a hybrid work arrangement. It sits within MPI's IT department in Studio City, CA. Compensation ranges from USD 125,000 to 145,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver interactive Power BI datasets, dashboards, reports, and stories that are easy to interpret
  • Create, deploy, and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines using SSIS, Alteryx, and Microsoft Fabric
  • Craft and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
  • Develop and manage Alteryx workflows and analytic applications
  • Provide daily operational and production support for Power BI, Alteryx, and other BI solutions, including dashboards and reports
  • Maintain data quality, reliability, performance, and scalability across analytics solutions
  • Apply data governance, lineage, sensitivity labeling, and compliance standards via Microsoft Purview
  • Ensure regulatory compliance such as HIPAA in all data use and access activities
  • Collaborate with business users and IT partners to convert requirements into effective analytics solutions
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences through written, verbal, and formal presentations
  • Participate in design and peer reviews within the department
  • Stay current with BI and data analytics trends, tools, and best practices

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Developer or Data Analyst
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive experience building and maintaining data pipelines using MS Fabric, and modeling and transforming data with Fabric Lakehouse or Warehouse
  • Experience documenting data models, reports, and pipeline logic and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Proficiency with Power BI including data preparation, modeling, DAX, and report optimization; ability to develop paginated reports with Power BI Report Builder for operational needs
  • Solid Alteryx experience covering workflow development, optimization, and ongoing support
  • Ability to maintain and support SSIS packages
  • Experience administering and supporting Alteryx Server, including upgrades, MongoDB backups, and issue resolution
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and trend identification
  • Experience providing production support for BI and analytics solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels
  • Strong reliability and attendance; flexibility to work extended hours when required
  • Ability to take direction and feedback from supervisors
  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance, healthcare, or financial services is preferred
  • Experience supporting self-service governance and governed analytics environments with familiarity of modern data governance and compliance is preferred
