Job Description

Remedy is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to join its centralized data team. In this onsite role in Summit, NJ, you will own a functional data area end-to-end, turning raw sources into metrics and semantic layers that leadership and cross-functional partners rely on for decision-making.

Role Overview

You will act as the lead analyst for a domain area such as finance or growth and retention, covering the full lifecycle from data modeling and metric definitions through analysis, governance, and roadmap ownership. You will build and maintain dbt models and the semantic layer, partnering with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous questions into scalable data products.

Responsibilities

  • Own a functional data area and serve as the first point of contact for domain insights, including models, metrics, analysis, and roadmap planning.
  • Architect core data models by designing and maintaining silver and gold layer models in dbt using Kimball dimensional modeling (facts and dimensions).
  • Define and operationalize company metrics with consistent, governed definitions, including examples such as retention, funnel conversion, LTV/CAC/ROAS, and revenue.
  • Steward the semantic layer by treating BI tooling (Hex) as a product and owning semantic layer health, cross-team modeling standards, and self-serve data products.
  • Ensure metric trustworthiness through standards for testing, documentation, and data freshness, and lead root-cause analysis on discrepancies with fixes to underlying architecture.
  • Partner with business teams across Marketing, Growth, Finance, and Product to convert unclear requests into clear requirements and scalable solutions.
  • Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and outcomes to audiences ranging from engineers to senior leadership while setting and managing expectations.
  • Improve upstream data in collaboration with product and engineering by working on event taxonomy and instrumentation quality and consistency across app, web, and backend.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in analytics, analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Deep SQL experience in a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake, to validate data quality, investigate anomalies, and support your analysis.
  • Production experience with dbt, including modeling, testing, documentation, and project structure.
  • Strong data modeling skills, including Kimball dimensional modeling (star schemas and slowly changing dimensions) and layered medallion architectures.
  • Business and analytical judgment to prioritize which questions matter and determine how to answer them.
  • Experience leading cross-team data initiatives, including gathering requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clear, confident communication with senior leadership, including the ability to push back and reset expectations when necessary.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a fast pace, with the ability to prioritize and ship without waiting for perfect specifications.
  • A bias for action and follow-through.
