Senior Biometric Software Engineer
Job Description
Senior Biometric Software Engineer role supporting the Department of Homeland Security Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM), joining a team of biometric system developers to build, deploy, and maintain mission-critical biometric applications.
Responsibilities
- Apply Java and GoLang development skills to create, deploy, and sustain mission-critical biometric applications.
- Provide technical guidance during concept, development, and deployment phases, engaging users to define system scope and objectives and contributing to design decisions.
- Contribute to new development and re-engineering efforts, including making key system design decisions.
- Implement enhancements to the existing system, coordinate with other developers working in parallel, and perform QA/testing as needed.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of development experience
- Experience with GoLang and Java programming languages
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven
- Experience with relational databases
- Experience with Docker, AWS, and Red Hat/OpenShift v4.x
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Knowledge of end-to-end fully-automated CI/CD pipelines
