Senior Cyber Security Engineer - ISSO

Alpha Team Solutions, Inc is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer - ISSO to support the Marine Corps program based in Quantico. The role emphasizes RMF based cybersecurity, cloud security for AWS-centric environments, and secure software authorization throughout the lifecycle. It is a hybrid position in Quantico that requires U.S. citizenship, an active SECRET clearance, and a minimum of ten years of IT security experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security and Information Assurance efforts directly supporting the Government Client's cloud offerings, with a focus on AWS-heavy environments, while guiding security engineering across the program.
• Provide expert IA guidance to current systems and to evaluate new technologies under consideration.
• Oversee the Authorization to Operate process to ensure systems meet MARFORCYBER RMF requirements and align with NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FEDRAMP, and agency directives.
• Analyze and assess systems, networks, and architectures for security compliance across technical, procedural, and management controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate appropriate security controls, enabling secure and efficient software and system operations.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of security artifacts, including SSPs, SARs, RARs, POA&Ms, and other required documentation.
• Manage vulnerability analysis, review scan results, and implement mitigations for operating systems and applications.
• Serve as the key advisor for secure software authorization, partnering with development teams to embed security into the software lifecycle and facilitate secure deployment.
• Ensure steady progress through the RMF lifecycle to help the Government Client obtain and sustain system and software authorizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• IAT Level II minimum.
• Active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
• 10+ years of IT systems security / information assurance experience in IC/DoD environments.
• Strong expertise in NAVY / MARFORCYBER RMF, DCID 6/3, DIACAP, or related frameworks.
• Experience with secure cloud and distributed system operations.
• Relocation to Quantico, VA before starting work (Required).

Salary range: USD 93,000 to 175,000 per year
