Senior Data Analytics Engineer - Remote

Optum offers a remote friendly Senior Data Analytics Engineer role focused on the Fraud Retrospective Product, joining the Optum Payment Integrity team. Responsibilities

• Provide realistic effort estimates and timelines for development and support projects
• Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical design and technical specifications documents
• Build analytic processes aligned with existing standards and macros
• Develop solutions suitable for a production environment
• Execute data extraction and research studies, including analysis, review, trending, and presenting findings to support ad hoc data requests
• Collaborate with business engagement leaders and technical analysts to create or modify process documentation and templates
• Analyze data elements within current source data mart schemas
• Examine healthcare claims from multiple data sources to identify data integrity issues
• Perform unit, system and regression testing to ensure quality
• Tune the performance of existing applications and analytics
• Guide and advise developers to improve the efficiency of programming practices
• Share knowledge and serve as a technical expert within the team
• Lead and mentor both new and existing team members
• Identify production process deficiencies and implement enhancements to boost productivity or reduce manual effort

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with SAS
• 3+ years relational database experience with Oracle, Teradata, MySQL, and/or Snowflake
• 3+ years of analysis, process improvement, problem solving and critical thinking experience
