Job Description

Build reliable multilingual intelligence with automation that supports the full ML lifecycle. On the AI/ML Translation & Multilingual Intelligence team, you’ll develop and refine highly scalable model automation pipelines and tooling to help drive machine translation and related NLP work from training through deployment. This onsite role is based in Cupertino, CA.

Compensation for this position is $150,400 to $277,600 per year, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments and relocation, based on eligibility and other plan or program terms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation pipelines and tools for training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models for machine translation and related NLP tasks
  • Implement and optimize ML pipelines with focus on distributed data processing, training, inference throughput, and overall efficiency
  • Collaborate with software engineers and QE to integrate ML models into production systems

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience across the ML lifecycle, including model management, data processing, and large distributed systems and cloud computing using tools such as Spark, Ray, and Dask
  • Strong Python coding skills
  • Experience with ML infrastructure tools such as vLLM, SGLang, TRT-llm, Slime, or Megatron-LM
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills

Technology Focus

You will work with Python and modern ML and NLP stacks, including PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, transformer architectures, and model automation for MT (machine translation), ASR (automatic speech recognition), and related NLP tasks. Distributed processing may involve Spark, Ray, and Dask, along with LLM infrastructure tools such as vLLM, SGLang, TRT-llm, Slime, and Megatron-LM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong machine learning expertise with hands-on experience in model fine-tuning, evaluation, experiment tracking, pipeline building, and deployment
  • Experience with LLMs and neural machine translation
  • Deep knowledge of ML frameworks and technologies such as NLP, MT, ASR, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, and transformer architectures
