What you will work on

• Backend integration to manage asynchronous data flows from LLMs and other AI services
• Optimizing performance to deliver fast, responsive AI driven interfaces, even with large datasets or real time streaming output
• Designing and owning end to end systems spanning backend services, APIs, data storage, and frontend integration
• Building and evolving GenAI powered services that support design generation, validation, and automation workflows
• Contributing to the long term technical vision and architectural decisions
• Balancing rapid delivery with scalable, maintainable system design
• Collaborating with internal teams to translate needs into robust solutions
• Contributing to hiring, mentoring junior engineers, and elevating the engineering bar

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship)
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one programming language
• 5+ years leading design or architecture of new or existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• Experience with emerging generative and agentic technologies
• Experience in machine learning and data science

About the role and team

This role focuses on Generative AI UX solutions for AWS customers, with two key products: Venue, an internal AI powered prototyping tool that leverages the AWS Cloudscape Design System, and Arena, an external version aimed at broad adoption and rapid 0 to 1 prototyping. You will help shape the direction of AI UX by combining generative and agentic AI approaches with thoughtful design, trust, transparency, and user control.
