Job Description

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is looking for a Senior Principal Software Security Engineer to lead real-time missile software security design, development, and integration. The role emphasizes applying security principles to embedded software and collaborating with Systems Security Engineering to translate requirements into robust, verifiable solutions. This onsite position requires a strong background in C and C++ development within embedded environments.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze real-time software design and its performance implications for System Security implementations within missile software.
  • Participate in the design, development, integration, and testing of real-time missile software at the application and embedded levels.
  • Apply System Security principles to the design and implementation of missile software applications.
  • Develop software on multiple computing platforms using C and C++.
  • Understand how individual contributions influence the overall missile system and craft or review detailed source-code level solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Systems Security Engineering team to define and implement requirements.
  • Operate within a common development environment to enable program capabilities and leverage security features.
  • Interface with the customer community to review technical designs and support verification of system maturity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant software experience.
  • Proficiency with C and C++ programming.
  • Experience with Xilinx UltaScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar Embedded Processors.
  • Background working with embedded operating systems such as VxWorks, Embedded Linux, or equivalent.
  • embedded Software Security experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret U.S. security clearance prior to start date, with eligibility for program access after start; U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
