Senior Security Engineer, Data Center Network

Apple is hiring a Senior Security Engineer for onsite work in the United States within the Data Center Network Security Engineering team, partnering with the SDI team on next-generation network security products and features.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the SDI team to shape the design of next-generation security products and features
• Operationalize security solutions that support Apple’s hyperscale network infrastructure
• Apply advanced network security controls, automation, and industry best practices across on-premises data centers, hybrid, and multi-cloud deployments (including Apple Cloud and third-party cloud environments)
• Implement network security controls across on-premises environments as part of hybrid and multi-cloud architectures
• Develop, enforce, and maintain security frameworks, policies, and best practices for cloud-scale networking security
• Design, implement, and secure large-scale cloud and data center network infrastructures

Requirements

• Sophisticated knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols, security protocols, and large-scale network features
• Deep technical background in network-layer security mechanisms
• Routing isolation and routing security
• Experience with stateful and stateless firewalls
• Network access control
• Knowledge of VPN and tunneling technologies
• Cloud-scale networking security experience applying, enforcing, and maintaining security frameworks, policies, and best practices
• Experience deploying and scaling overlay networking technologies including VXLAN, GRE, and IPSec

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years experience building, securing, and deploying large-scale data center network and cloud environments
• CISSP or equivalent certification(s)
• Extensive understanding of public and private cloud networking security architecture and compute virtualization technologies
• Experience with OVS, Container, and Kube networking
• Engineering leadership experience
• Self-starter who drives ideas from inception to implementation
• Consistent technical, organizational, and industry-level awareness
• Technical presentation and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in one or more software languages (Swift, Golang, Python, etc)
• Linux/Unix competence

Compensation: USD 175,500 - 311,700 per year. Location: United States (onsite).
