Senior Software Engineer

Decision Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a Naval Sea Systems Command contract based at the Washington Navy Yard. The role provides software research, design, and development support to a 200-person contractor team under the Program/Deputy Program Manager, with onsite work in Washington, DC and limited telework and travel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
• Collaborate with other functional disciplines such as project management, acquisition, logistics, and security to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and define performance requirements.
• Maintain databases within an application area.

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
• Certification requirements: None
• High school degree, or a GED, and twenty (20) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience
• A bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and fifteen (15) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience
• A master's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and ten (10) years of relevant Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience

Work Location and Telework

The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with customers’ approval but will need to evolve as work relationships change.

Travel Requirements

Travel should be infrequent but include occasional trips to support government efforts at East and West Coast naval-centric areas like Norfolk, VA and San Diego, CA.

Compensation

Salary: USD 125,000 - 150,000 per year.
