Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer on the ITOM Cloud Services team at ServiceNow, onsite in Santa Clara, CA, with a salary range of USD 143,200 - 243,400 per year, focusing on scalable cloud services on Kubernetes, advancing AI initiatives, and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop clean, scalable code while applying software engineering best practices, including architecture governance, code reviews, and unit testing.
• Design, implement, deploy, and operate highly available and high-performance cloud services using modern technologies.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate requirements and own the full code lifecycle from design through testing and delivery.
• Create extensible, customizable software to meet diverse customer needs.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while enhancing existing services.
• Mentor engineers and promote a customer-focused engineering culture.

Requirements

• Experience integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• 3+ years of experience with Java or a similar object-oriented language.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Flink, data processing systems, and the Observability stack is preferred.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
• Analytical and design skills.
• Working knowledge of daily tooling (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, ServiceNow instances, profilers, and Unix-like system administration tools).
