Senior Software Engineer, DevOps

ServiceNow is building out the Moveworks AI cloud infrastructure and developer platform to support teams across machine learning, search, data, and frontend. This Senior Software Engineer, DevOps role focuses on designing, operating, and scaling multi-region cloud infrastructure while automating delivery with CI/CD pipelines built using infrastructure as code.

The position is based in Mountain View, CA and is listed as onsite. The annual salary range is USD 143,200 - 243,000, and the base pay may be supplemented by equity when applicable, along with variable or incentive compensation and benefits. Candidates are expected to bring 3+ years of experience.

What you will do

• Build and scale the Moveworks AI cloud infrastructure and developer platform
• Partner closely with platform, machine learning, search, data, and frontend teams to understand DevOps and infrastructure needs, influence the DevOps roadmap, and lead or execute projects end to end
• Design, build, and manage Moveworks cloud infrastructure across many regions and clouds, emphasizing security, scalability, performance, observability, resilience, and cost optimization
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure as code, with automation to provision and manage the Moveworks application stack across different environments
• Collaborate with Moveworks security to enhance the infrastructure security posture

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience
• A hands-on technical approach with strong ownership, proactively leading complex platform and infrastructure initiatives from conception through delivery and measurement
• Strong expertise designing and building cloud infrastructure on AWS (or other cloud), including experience managing AWS security groups, IAM roles, Elastic Load Balancers, Cloud Formation, and other cloud services
• Knowledge of VPN, AWS VPC, DNS, and experience troubleshooting network issues
• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and Istio
• Working knowledge of disaster recovery, including data backup and recovery and replication, plus security areas such as AWS KMS, certificate management, encryption, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and security tools
• Comfort using tools including Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and related workflows
• Ability to work at a startup pace on challenging problems with a high degree of ownership
