Senior Software Engineer (SAS)
Job Description
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Senior Software Packaging Engineer for Windows desktop solutions to support an intelligence customer on a customer-site program in Springfield, VA. This on-site role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a CI polygraph and centers on packaging, deployment, and lifecycle support for Windows desktop environments. The position offers a salary range of USD 125,800 to 170,200 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design and define the system architecture for Windows desktop solutions and client-based applications
- Support the integration of Windows desktops with a variety of enterprise services
- Evaluate desktop software and hardware technologies to determine the most efficient deployment approach within the customer's network
- Administer, operate, manage and maintain components for Windows desktop deployments, including virtual and thick client environments
- Review completed system additions and enhancements and provide recommendations to management or clients
- Plan and direct upgrades of Windows desktop operating system versions and supporting infrastructure
Requirements
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
- Active TS/SCI and CI polygraph
- Experience with MECM / MCM packaging and strong knowledge of OSD, MDT, and Intune
- Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop design engineering and deployment options
- Experience with Microsoft deployment tools including MDT and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
- Experience engineering and deploying client software installation packages for Microsoft Windows desktops (physical and virtual)
- Experience with Application Virtualization, including Citrix XenApp, Citrix App Layering, Microsoft APPV, and MSIX App Attach
- Experience maintaining Windows desktop systems for mobile users on laptop hardware
- Experience integrating antivirus and malware products within Windows desktop configurations and remediation
- Ability to deploy rapid software fixes for desktops and servers
