Job Description

This early career software engineering role at Lockheed Martin Space in Herndon, VA involves joining a scrum team to plan, build, test, and debug mission critical applications, with Java and cross-OS experience and security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, run, and coordinate agile software development activities within a scrum framework.
  • Design, implement, document, test, and debug software that applies logical and mathematical solutions to mission-critical issues.
  • Adhere to applicable standards, processes, procedures, and tools across the software development lifecycle.
  • Utilize knowledge of hardware, software, mission domain, information processing techniques, and user input to develop effective software for mission applications.
  • Identify and resolve program errors, document development work, and evaluate system capabilities to address questions of program intent, outputs, and data input.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Hands-on Java development experience.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a government security investigation; ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required.

Security and Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen for consideration and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Location and Employment Details

Location: Herndon, Virginia (onsite). Employment type: Full-time, on-site only.

Schedule and Relocation

  • Onsite, full-time work at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work schedule includes 9x80 with every other Friday off; alternative schedules may be available.
  • Relocation assistance is possible depending on candidate and needs.
