Job Description

Based onsite in Tullahoma, Tennessee, Amentum Advanced Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer who combines full-stack development with an AI focus to design enterprise software and AI/ML data pipelines for mission-critical workflows. The role emphasizes DOE compliance and security, and involves collaborating with security, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams to support national security objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade software applications.
  • Build AI/ML data pipelines and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems for critical workflows.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet DOE compliance, security standards, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams to align with customer objectives and national security goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field with hands-on AI experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on full-stack development using .NET, Python, and React/Blazor.
  • Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, Docker-based containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Background in AI/ML integration, RAG systems, and data pipeline engineering (ETL, NiFi, Spark).
  • Familiarity with secure and regulated environments, including DOE compliance, IP whitelisting, secret management, and audit-ready logging.

Other Essential Functions

  • Participate in peer code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, support production debugging and incident response, and assist with onboarding or mentoring junior engineers as needed.

Compensation

USD 80,000 to 110,000 per year. The listed range reflects a good-faith estimate and actual compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable laws.
