Software Engineer III - AWS, Cloud

JPMorganChase is hiring a Software Engineer III to support the Prepaid Cards Group, working within an agile team that designs and delivers trusted, secure, stable, and scalable technology products. In this onsite role in Tampa, Florida, you will contribute as a seasoned engineer across multiple technical areas and business functions, taking ownership of critical solutions from design through troubleshooting.

What you’ll do

• Execute software solutions end to end, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to work beyond routine approaches to resolve complex problems
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with the appropriate systems
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools in the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables such as code generation and refactoring, unit test creation, and documentation, while validating results through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards
• Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to increase the value delivered through automation
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met through software code development
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and create visualizations and reporting from large, diverse datasets to support continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Identify hidden problems and recurring patterns in data, then use insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture

What you’ll need

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for tasks such as coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation, with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations, with the ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
