Sr. Data Analytics Engineer
Job Description
The Sr. Data Analytics Engineer will join Under Armour’s Enterprise Data Management & Analytics team in Baltimore, contributing to the design and deployment of analytics pipelines, data models, and AI enabled automation while guiding architectural decisions and mentoring engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead data model design, semantic layer definition, and scalable ELT architecture.
- Design and deliver advanced data models, automation workflows, and decision‑intelligence solutions.
- Build high‑quality analytical datasets and data structures optimized for visualization.
- Own CI/CD deployment pipelines and release management processes.
- Promote engineering best practices including testing, observability, modular modeling, and documentation.
- Optimize Snowflake warehouse performance, cost efficiency, RBAC, and semantic layer design.
- Lead root‑cause analysis and implement long‑term fixes for complex data issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and uplift engineering maturity across squads.
- Facilitate stakeholder sessions to translate business requirements into scalable data products.
- Influence architectural decisions and the adoption of emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with EDMA, AI/Automation, Platform, and Governance teams.
- Provide on‑call support and proactive monitoring of the EDMA platform for production reliability across regions.
- Apply Generative AI tools to streamline development workflows and enhance product quality.
- Contribute to the design of AI‑enabled automation solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with typically 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with typically 3+ years of relevant experience, or typically 9+ years of relevant work experience without a degree.
- Expert SQL capabilities with mastery of complex data transformation patterns.
- Deep expertise in data modeling, ELT design, and enterprise data architecture.
- Proven ability to design scalable data applications, automation pipelines, and decision‑intelligence solutions.
- 4+ years of experience with Tableau or similar analytics platforms.
- 5+ years of dbt experience (modular modeling, testing, documentation, governance) or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in CI/CD engineering best practices.
- 5+ years of Snowflake experience (virtual warehouse optimization, RBAC, cost/performance engineering, semantic layer design).
- Advanced Python for automation, orchestration, and engineering workflows.
- Working knowledge of automation tools (eg, Elementum).
- Strong ability to influence architecture, mentor peers, and drive adoption of emerging technologies.
- Generative AI applied responsibly to accelerate development and improve quality.
- Experience with AI Coding Assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Cortex Code).
- Skilled at bridging technical depth with business clarity through impactful communication.

Base Compensation
Base salary range: $125,000.00–$165,000.00 USD. Most new hires fall within this range with potential for growth over time. Initial placement within the range depends on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is complemented by a broader total rewards package.
