Sr. Data Science Engineer Spec-Data Scientist
Job Description
Senior data science engineer (Spec-Data Scientist) at Concurrent Technologies Corporation in a remote role, translates business problems into data science projects, builds models and dashboards, and conducts experiments to inform strategy.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to surface high impact problems and convert them into data science and analysis initiatives.
- Ingest, cleanse, and evaluate complex datasets from multiple sources to uncover trends and insights that guide strategic decisions.
- Design, implement, and validate predictive models and machine learning solutions for forecasting, segmentation, and optimization tasks.
- Create and maintain engaging dashboards and reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders using BI tools.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and statistical assessments to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.
- Develop clear visualizations and concise reports to communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Plan and run A/B tests and other experiments to quantify the impact of initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineers to build and enhance data pipelines ensuring data quality and accessibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in a Data Scientist or Senior Data Analyst role.
- Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn), SQL, and PySpark.
- Solid understanding of statistical methods, data mining techniques, and machine learning algorithms (classification, regression, clustering, decision trees).
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to tell a compelling data-driven story.
- Structured, analytical approach to solving complex problems with curiosity and rigor.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, R, SAS).
- Experience with natural language processing or other text analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of experimental design and causal inference methods.
- Experience in research and development, government contracting, or regulated industry domains.
