Job Description

Build scalable machine learning services for ad selection and decisioning across Disney Entertainment and ESPN platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test ad-serving logic that satisfies business criteria using rule-based and/or ML-based approaches
  • Deliver solutions for a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment
  • Improve system observability by defining and implementing metrics, monitors, and alerts
  • Review product user stories and translate them into actionable backend and frontend tasks
  • Own one or more areas of the team’s domain
  • Use automated AI tools in accordance with company policy
  • Participate in On-Call rotations per the team’s escalation policy and support schedule

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of software engineering with ML experience
  • Proficiency with Java
  • Experience with large scale ML/DL platforms and processing technology stacks
  • Hands-on large scale machine learning experience with tools such as scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, and pytorch
  • Experience building LLM-based applications using providers such as AWS Bedrock, Azure Cognitive Services, or Google Vertex AI
  • Experience with agent frameworks including LangGraph, Crew AI, and strands sdk
  • Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills; strong knowledge of implementing AI/ML and applying mathematical and statistical concepts
  • Strong communication and collaboration with both technical and non-technical partners

  • Experience with data streaming mechanisms such as Apache Kafka and/or Kinesis
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with modern DevOps tools including Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Domain knowledge in Ad Tech

Location & Schedule

  • Seattle, WA (onsite)
  • Engineers are expected to be in the office four days a week
  • Also hiring in Glendale, Seattle, San Francisco, or Santa Monica

Salary

  • USD 141,900 - 199,400 per year
