Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Senior UEM Ocean Engineer to support the Magnetic Silencing Facility and UEM System of Interest lifecycle for NSWCCD Code 75 projects. The role blends mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic systems engineering across design, integration, testing, and system reviews, with opportunities to shape work from concept to field implementation and retirement.

Location: Ijamsville, MD (onsite). Salary: USD 124,000 - 136,000 per year. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Ocean Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline. Experience: 10+ years of technical and management experience with U.S. Navy programs or marine/ocean engineering projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide lifecycle support for Magnetic Silencing Facility (MSF) and UEM System of Interest (SOI), covering conceptual and detailed design, hardware implementation, as-built drawings, site modifications, procurement, integration and testing, test data, reports, and eventual retirement.
  • Deliver technical guidance across mechanical, electrical, and electromagnetic (EM) systems engineering disciplines.
  • Support system lifecycle decision gates and milestones, including SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, and TRR, in projects governed by NSWCCD Code 75 or related sponsors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ocean Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 10+ years of collective technical and management experience with U.S. Navy technical programs, marine and ocean engineering, or equivalent projects.
  • Active secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
