Staff Industrial Wastewater Engineer

Arcadis is expanding its Industrial Water team in Syracuse, New York, and is seeking a Staff Industrial Wastewater Engineer to help plan, design, and implement industrial wastewater treatment projects. This role offers opportunities for technical development and may require travel up to 25 percent to support client engagements, site work, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating, designing, and implementing industrial wastewater treatment systems across a range of technologies, including physical, chemical, biological, membrane, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization processes.
• Prepare engineering calculations, process analyses, technical reports, design documentation, and system specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to deliver projects that meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.
• Support client engagements, site investigations, pilot studies, equipment selection, construction support, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting.
• Maintain compliance with Arcadis quality, safety, and technical standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel up to 25 percent may be required to support client meetings, site assessments, and construction activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment engineering
