Staff Software Engineer, Agentic AI Harness & Quality

ServiceNow is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Agentic AI Harness & Quality team in Mountain View, CA (onsite) to advance agent reliability and scalability through the Moveworks AI Assistant platform.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver challenging engineering work across agent reliability and scalability, with focus on agent orchestration, sandboxed file systems and code execution, latency optimization, agent memory, and LLM self-reflection
• Implement frontier AI algorithms and architectures and help productionize them at scale
• Apply the latest advances in machine learning, LLMs, and AI agents to improve products and user experiences
• Contribute to the roadmap and help evolve engineering areas with growing scope and customer impact
• Write robust, extensible, readable, and performant code with an emphasis on production readiness
• Partner with subject matter experts across the company, including machine learning, security, product, user experience, and customer success
• Mentor fellow engineers on building, maintaining, and evolving great software
• Collaborate closely with machine learning engineers to build world-class AI systems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and improving production systems, ideally at scale
• Ability to think and communicate clearly about complex engineering problems and systems
• Comfort giving and receiving feedback, with a strong commitment to operational excellence and accountability
• Readiness to start quickly in a Mac development environment, programming in Python, Golang, and/or Java
• Desire to ship at a startup pace with high ownership
• Attention to detail
• Drive to deliver production-grade code and ship product improvements
• Strong appetite for continuous incremental wins and completing challenging projects quickly
• High curiosity about engineering beyond a single discipline and ongoing desire to learn and stay at the cutting edge of applied AI
