Job Description

The Strategic Electrical Engineer role supports nuclear plant operations through engineering and technical work performed under direct supervision. Based out of Quad Cities Generating Station in Cordova, IL, this position may be filled at an Entry-level (E01), Mid-level (E02), or Senior (E03) Engineer level depending on experience and qualifications.

In this onsite role, you will contribute to engineering deliverables that align with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and regulatory requirements, while also completing assigned engineering and technical tasks and supporting broader departmental needs.

Location and compensation

  • Location: Cordova, IL (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 70,400 - 154,000 per yearly
  • Minimum experience: 2 years

Summary

Responsibilities

  • Assure all engineering products prepared comply with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements
  • Perform engineering and technical tasks as assigned by supervision
  • Support engineering work functions
  • Complete other job assignments and duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management, including emergency response duties/coverage, department duty coverage or call-out, and positions outside the department in support of outage activities

Requirements

  • Education: B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear)
  • Maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and maintain favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
  • Entry-level consideration: B.S. in Engineering; Engineer in Training Certification
  • Mid-level (E02) consideration: B.S. in Engineering plus a minimum 2 years Nuclear experience or related engineering experience
  • Senior-level (E03) consideration: B.S. in Engineering plus a minimum 5 years Nuclear experience or related engineering experience
  • Meet additional requirements outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard, “Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants” (as applicable to the level)

Minimum qualifications by level

  • Entry Level E01 Engineer (New Graduate): B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear); maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable
  • Mid-Level E02 Engineer: B.S. in Engineering with a minimum 2 years Nuclear experience or related engineering experience; meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 requirements; maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable
  • Senior E03 Engineer: B.S. in Engineering with a minimum 5 years Nuclear experience or related engineering experience; meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 requirements; maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable
