Systems Engineer
Job Description
Capstone Research Corporation seeks an early-career Systems Engineer to join the Mission Engineering team in Huntsville, Alabama on site. The role centers on evaluating end-to-end mission effectiveness through simulations and translating findings into data-driven acquisition guidance for the DoD. The position offers a salary range of USD 90,000 to 145,000 per year and requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Responsibilities
- Develop automated analysis tools and scripts to parse large simulation datasets, enabling sensitivity analysis, trade-space exploration, and the quantification of mission effectiveness.
- Evaluate threat kinematics, sensor-to-shooter assignments, weapon flyouts, and overall lethality to quantify end-to-end performance across complex Integrated Air and Missile Defense IAMD architectures.
- Synthesize large-scale simulation results into clear, decision-quality insights and recommendations for government leadership to inform future investments and fielding strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related highly technical field.
- 1 to 5 years of applied engineering experience, with a focus on data analysis, modeling, simulation, and analytical tool development.
- Experience with DoW customers, systems, and/or programs.
- Active Secret Clearance required, Top Secret preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- Engagement Chains: Experience analyzing architectures for sensor-to-shooter loops and fire control closures.
- Experience with Army IAMD systems or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) architectures and platforms.
- Familiarity with the Joint Track Management Capability Bridge.
- Familiarity with translating operational scenarios or kill webs into quantitative simulation environments.
