Systems Engineer - Level 3 or 4 (AHT)

Join Northrop Grumman in Boulder, CO (onsite) as a Systems Engineer (Level 3 or 4) supporting mission-critical ground systems. This role focuses on system integration for antenna ground systems, helping programs move from requirements through verification, validation, and acceptance testing to reach initial and final operational capacity. You will work with engineering teams, program leadership, and customers to adapt technical direction through key milestones, with future scope to expand ground capabilities for space programs.

Salary: USD 114,000 - 213,400 per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide system integration support for the definition, development, decomposition analysis, verification, and validation of requirements for an antenna ground system in development.
• Partner with program leadership and the customer to keep technical work continuously aligned, guiding critical milestone progress toward mission success.
• Support program maturity milestones, including acceptance testing, initial operational capacity, and final operational capacity.
• Deliver ground segments for a diverse set of space programs.
• Span integration efforts across future systems, antenna systems, and supporting system infrastructure.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance required at time of application.
• Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts and approaches.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing relationships with customers and subcontractors.
• Proven success executing agile projects, supporting faster iteration cycles and rapid prototype development.
• Experience in designing, developing, and integrating antennas and shelter systems.
• Proven track record on programs delivering ground system solutions that can access and integrate data from space, aerial, and terrestrial sensors.
• Level 3: STEM bachelor’s with 5 years relevant experience, or STEM master’s with 3 years relevant experience, or PhD with 1 year relevant experience.
• Level 4: STEM bachelor’s with 8 years relevant experience, or STEM master’s with 6 years relevant experience, or PhD with 4 years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with space vehicle ground segment design.
• Ability to iterate quickly on design and development processes, incorporating feedback and improving outcomes.
• Experience conducting environmental, MIL-STD, and factory-acceptance testing for robust ground system performance.
• Experience with Agile development processes, including rapid iteration to incorporate feedback efficiently.
• Ability to communicate and present to project and program management, technical leaders, and customers.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) languages and concepts (SysML/UML).
• Networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, secure network communications, and network infrastructure design aligned to operational security standards (firewalls, VPNs, system hardening).
• Excellent technical writing and team-building skills.

Primary level salary range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
