Tactical RF Sensors Subsystem Lead Engineer
Job Description
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Tactical RF Sensors Subsystem Lead Engineer to support a proprietary Air Dominance Fixed Wing program in Berkeley, Missouri. The role provides technical leadership for an RF sensor subsystem across the program lifecycle, including requirements work, integration, verification, and validation.

Compensation
Salary range: USD 136,850 - 185,150 per year
Pay approach: Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Boeing Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities, along with eligible benefit program options.

Role Summary
The Tactical RF Sensors Subsystem Lead Engineer coordinates an engineering team to deliver a sensor subsystem for an Air Dominance Fixed Wing program. Responsibilities include technical leadership, integration, and validation of complex RF sensor systems, while serving as a primary interface between program leadership, suppliers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day activity of an engineering team using agile toolsets such as JIRA and Confluence
- Provide technical leadership and drive technical excellence across subsystem scope of work
- Oversee and approve technical approaches and subsystem team engineering efforts
- Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements
- Analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications
- Test and validate radio frequency (RF) systems to confirm designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Manage and monitor supplier performance to support system integration and compliance with requirements
- Support resolution of issues for fielded hardware and software across the product lifecycle
- Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs
- Use model-based systems engineering (MBSE) for hardware, software, and performance model development, including requirements development, interface definition, and traceability
- Lead hardware and software development, integration, and verification and validation activities
- Support radio frequency (RF) sensor integration
- Develop supplier requirements, evaluate technologies, and integrate work across multi-disciplined engineering teams
- Conduct prototype hardware and software evaluation, lab integration, analysis, and testing
- Serve as the primary interface between program leadership, suppliers, and customers
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 9+ years of related work experience and a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of related work experience and technical education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on tactical RF sensors, including radar systems, communication systems, or electronic warfare systems
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Experience with Department of Defense Certification activities
- Experience working in Cameo or similar MBSE tools
- Experience developing requirements and applicable traceability
- Experience working on development programs using agile/scrum methodology
- Experience with lab test and verification activities for RF sensors
