UAS Cybersecurity Engineer

SAIC is hiring a UAS Cybersecurity Engineer for onsite work in Huntsville, AL. This role supports UAS system development through hands-on hardening and security testing, including vulnerability scanning, security control assessment support, and production of technical cyber documentation in an agile scrum environment with biweekly deliverables. Day shift, full-time, with ~10% travel.

What you’ll do

• Perform software and system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial and government software used for system development, scanning, and hardening.
• Execute software application source, hardware component, and operating system scans to identify system vulnerabilities.
• Make system configuration changes to remediate vulnerabilities, including updates to Microsoft Windows and UNIX-based operating system configuration files.
• Support cybersecurity vulnerability testing, full system evaluation, and maintain documentation for assessed outcomes.
• Use STIGs and associated tools and processes, including ACAS, NESSUS, and the NIST Risk Management Framework, to prepare for and complete Security Control Assessment (SCA) events.
• Collaborate with system integrators, network engineers, software developers, and project managers to implement, maintain, and monitor technical security controls and harden information systems.
• Work in an agile scrum model producing cyber reports and hardened systems on a biweekly basis.
• Develop cybersecurity engineering deliverables using the Microsoft Office Suite, including vulnerability assessment reports, architectural analysis reports, system security plan, security control traceability matrix, and cyber SOPs.

Required skills and experience

• Strong experience with Linux operating systems.
• Experience with system scanning, vulnerability identification, and resolution.
• Experience with industry cybersecurity tools including ACAS, Nessus, SCAP, and STIG Viewer.
• Experience with source code scanning utilities such as Checkmarx, SonarQube, and Fortify.
• Active Secret security clearance prior to starting; ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CompTIA Security+ within 90 days of hire.
• Intermediate Level: Bachelors degree and five (5) years of experience, or four (4) years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
• Senior Level: Bachelors degree and nine (9) years of experience, or four (4) years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
