Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer

Vertage is seeking a Wiring Harness Design Release Engineer to support wiring harness packaging for vehicles, with an emphasis on practical, manufacturable designs. This onsite role in the United States brings opportunities to improve quality through release and change documentation, strengthen designs using warranty feedback, and contribute to cost reduction initiatives. You will also help support vehicle build events at customer sites.

What you’ll do

• Partner with designers to package wiring harnesses in vehicles while following established design guidelines.
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) guidance to support builds that are easier to produce.
• Support vehicle build events at customer sites, collaborating during on-site execution.
• Contribute to cost reduction initiatives connected to wiring harness design and release activities.
• Specify, document, and coordinate engineering changes across the release process.
• Issue documentation that authorizes design changes and track cost impacts.
• Review warranty claims to identify recurring issues and support design improvements.

What you bring

• BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Logical thinking to resolve design issues.
• Professional communication skills and an open-minded approach for working in a dynamic customer environment.
• Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites and customer sites.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• English with professional working proficiency.

Preferred background

• Automotive industry experience.
