Job Description

Artheon offers an early-career path with real projects, mentorship, and a structured leadership program. This Associate Engineer role provides hands-on exposure across municipal engineering disciplines, a six-month Blueprint leadership curriculum, and meaningful growth opportunities as you move from design to construction and beyond. The position is onsite in Barnegat, NY, with a willingness to work from the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office. The salary range is USD 65,000 to 75,000 per year and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.

Responsibilities

Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances and standards
Support planning board and zoning board reviews by preparing technical comments and reports
Serve as a clear, professional voice in conversations with boards, applicants, inspectors, and internal teams
Contribute to design work on municipal infrastructure projects such as roadway improvements, including plans and specifications
Run engineering calculations and analysis alongside senior engineers
Coordinate with inspectors in the field to observe real conditions up close
Learn how projects are built from start to finish, not just designed
Collaborate with experienced engineers, including recently licensed PEs, who support your success
Participate in Artheon’s peer mentor program and other professional development opportunities

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or on track to take the exam
Confidence communicating in writing and in person, including at public meetings
Genuine interest in municipal engineering work
Willingness to work from and commit to the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office
