Associate Engineer
Job Description

This Associate Engineer role provides hands-on exposure across municipal engineering disciplines, a six-month Blueprint leadership curriculum, and meaningful growth opportunities as you move from design to construction and beyond. The position is onsite in Barnegat, NY, with a willingness to work from the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office. The salary range is USD 65,000 to 75,000 per year and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.

Responsibilities
- Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances and standards
- Support planning board and zoning board reviews by preparing technical comments and reports
- Serve as a clear, professional voice in conversations with boards, applicants, inspectors, and internal teams
- Contribute to design work on municipal infrastructure projects such as roadway improvements, including plans and specifications
- Run engineering calculations and analysis alongside senior engineers
- Coordinate with inspectors in the field to observe real conditions up close
- Learn how projects are built from start to finish, not just designed
- Collaborate with experienced engineers, including recently licensed PEs, who support your success
- Participate in Artheon’s peer mentor program and other professional development opportunities
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or on track to take the exam
- Confidence communicating in writing and in person, including at public meetings
- Genuine interest in municipal engineering work
- Willingness to work from and commit to the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office
