Job Description

Electrical Design Engineer with 5+ years of experience based onsite in Bedford Heights, OH, joining the VDC/BIM team to apply building codes and engineering standards, develop 3D construction drawings, and coordinate with customers and trades.

Responsibilities

Our VDC/BIM Team (Virtual Design and Construction / Building Information Modeling) is involved with creating, managing, and deploying 3D architectural models and content.
Understand and Implement Project Specifications.
Implement quality control process for completeness.
Proficiency with BIM drafting software: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D, AutoCAD MEP 3D
Conveying project requirements to team members and other trades during in-person and virtual meetings.
Coordinating and resolving BIM clashes with other trade models.
Creating 2D plans and schedules for construction and fabrication.
Preparing construction submittals and details as needed for each project.
Attending meetings to address and creatively solve design and installation issues.

Requirements

In-depth working and practical knowledge of current Revit and AutoCAD MEP.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities.
Basic PC experience in Windows environments (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) along with web-enabled applications and database software.
Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
5+ years of production experience in electrical design and drafting.
Electrical Design: 5 years (Required)
