Job Description

Based in Lakewood, NJ, the Structural Project Engineer will manage building-design tasks, coordinate with project teams, and mentor engineers across commercial, institutional, healthcare, and residential projects.

Job Details

Location: Lakewood, NJ (onsite)
Salary: USD 95,000 - 120,000 per year
Experience: 3+ years
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field with a structural focus

Responsibilities

Analyze, design, detail, and document structural systems for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings
Prepare and review calculations, sketches, markups, reports, and construction-phase documentation
Support renovations, existing-structure evaluations, and new construction from design through construction administration
Conduct site visits, field observations, measurements, and condition assessments; document findings and coordinate follow-up
Act as a task lead or secondary project contact, coordinating with architects, clients, contractors, and internal team members
Mentor junior engineers and manage assigned tasks within project schedules and budgets

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field with a structural focus
Master’s degree is a plus
3–6 years of relevant structural engineering experience
Strong fundamentals in structural analysis, design, detailing, and engineering problem solving
Effective written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with project team members
Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and operate within project budgets
Full-time on-site work at the Lakewood, NJ office
