Job Description

Based in Lakewood, NJ, the Structural Project Engineer will manage building-design tasks, coordinate with project teams, and mentor engineers across commercial, institutional, healthcare, and residential projects.

Job Details

  • Location: Lakewood, NJ (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 95,000 - 120,000 per year
  • Experience: 3+ years
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field with a structural focus

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, detail, and document structural systems for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings
  • Prepare and review calculations, sketches, markups, reports, and construction-phase documentation
  • Support renovations, existing-structure evaluations, and new construction from design through construction administration
  • Conduct site visits, field observations, measurements, and condition assessments; document findings and coordinate follow-up
  • Act as a task lead or secondary project contact, coordinating with architects, clients, contractors, and internal team members
  • Mentor junior engineers and manage assigned tasks within project schedules and budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field with a structural focus
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • 3–6 years of relevant structural engineering experience
  • Strong fundamentals in structural analysis, design, detailing, and engineering problem solving
  • Effective written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with project team members
  • Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and operate within project budgets
  • Full-time on-site work at the Lakewood, NJ office
