Based in Magna, Utah, this Electrical Reliability Engineer role supports Linde's regional manufacturing network, ensuring safe and reliable operation of critical electrical assets across industrial gas production facilities. The position emphasizes hands-on maintenance leadership, reliability improvements, and proactive project execution, with travel around 25 percent.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical resource for maintenance and reliability of all electrical distribution equipment, including low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and transformers, as well as synchronous and induction motors.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs (transformer oil testing, thermography, partial discharge analysis) and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Identify regional chronic electrical asset concerns and implement effective fixes.
- Plan and execute small electrical projects under $500k to improve reliability.
- Manage resolution planning for long-term electrical asset reliability threats.
- Assess equipment performance data to ensure optimal and efficient operation of regional electrical assets.
- Assist in cost estimation for corrective and preventive maintenance and project work on regional assets.
- Assist in turnaround planning and execution for regional electrical assets.
- LeadRoot Cause Analysis for major electrical failures and drive high-impact resolutions with urgency and integrity.
- Drive resolution of high-priority issues with a strong sense of urgency and ethics.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and reliability engineering within an industrial manufacturing environment focused on electrical assets; or non-degree with at least 15 years of equivalent experience.
- Proven installation and troubleshooting experience for electrical distribution systems, including low/medium/high voltage switchgear, transformers, and synchronous/induction motors.
- Solid knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead or participate on cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Experience with computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail) and CMMS systems.
