The Applications Engineer role at Pendu Manufacturing, LLC, onsite in New Holland, PA, centers on technical sales and pre-sales activities, delivering expert guidance on automation solutions and conducting product demonstrations. Responsibilities
- Assess customer RFQs and technical specifications to shape proposed solutions.
- Conceptualize machines and systems that align with client requirements.
- Maintain communication with customers regarding samples, layouts, and technical clarifications.
- Provide technical guidance during quotation, design, and manufacturing phases.
- Prepare equipment cost estimates and supporting documentation for proposals.
- Develop technical proposals, layouts, and functional descriptions.
- Coordinate customer visits, reviews, and acceptance testing activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to support project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and change records.
- Assist with installation, startup, and troubleshooting as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related technical field, with formal training in technical drawing and SolidWorks.
- Experience in applications, projects, and/or systems design.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment, or the ability to learn.
- Proficiency with power transmission components such as gearboxes, motors, gears, pulleys, sprockets, and chains; plus pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, valves, control circuits; electrical sensors, relays, and safety controls; PLCs, HMIs, and servo controls; and machining and metal fabrication processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Project or equivalents).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information to individuals and small groups.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 25 percent (Required).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
