Enbridge is hiring an early career Electrical Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation of U.S. Gas Transmission electrical power systems. This hybrid role in Nashville, Tennessee partners with Operations and Project teams across asset reliability, engineering standards, technical analysis, and electrical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of electrical equipment specifications, along with design and construction standards
- Support stewardship of electrical operating and maintenance procedures, including commissioning equipment checks and testing requirements
- Research and provide technical interpretations and guidance related to electrical standards and codes for Enbridge operations, project teams, and partners
- Identify opportunities and participate in technical analysis and the implementation of new technologies
- Assist with power protection support, including coordination and arc flash studies
- Help drive department initiatives and department development items through technical knowledge or technical support
- Assist with technical direction related to asset health and reliability, asset condition-based maintenance, and fleet management
- Provide power systems engineering and technical support for electrical issues
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and develop solutions for electrical issues involving medium and high voltage assets across operating, testing, and commissioning
- Support electrical system and asset reliability, quality, and electrical safety efforts
- Assist in providing technical knowledge to regional engineers, technical supervisors, contract engineers, and specialists to address equipment and process reliability issues
- Support development of asset reliability assessment and prioritization to inform capital and maintenance budget activities, including Risk Register items supporting Long Range Planning and Forecasting
- Provide technical mentoring and training to engineers, regional technicians, and other support groups
- Perform technical review for failure analyses and incident investigations
- Support technical design reviews
- Provide engineering expertise and participate in project designs with regional capital project managers and regional programs
- Conduct technical review and sign off of electrical test results
- Provide power protective relay commissioning support
- Independently communicate with industry peers, vendors, manufacturers, project managers, and regional partners, including engineers, supervisors, and specialists
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of progressive experience in an electrical engineering role and a bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Demonstrated ability to lead efforts solving complex technical problems, coordinating between departments and teams, and managing multiple assignments to meet established time constraints while managing collaborator expectations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective report composition, and the ability to interact effectively with peers, internal partners, vendors, and service providers
Preferred / Useful Skills and Knowledge (Assets)
- Knowledge of regulatory and industry codes/standards, including NFPA 70, 70E, NESC, IEEE, and other applicable standards
- Power systems knowledge, including power system coordination and modeling; SKM experience is preferred
- Working-level knowledge of liquids pipeline design and operations such as pump stations, terminal facilities, pipeline hydraulics, and related technologies including mechanical, process control systems, and instrumentation
- Ability to perform power systems studies using SKM, and provide power system support for design, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Location: Nashville, TN (hybrid). The role is Regular-Full time and non-union.
Working Conditions
- Typical office environment with scheduled travel and occasional urgent response needs for investigations or field activities
- Travel by driving and flying is expected, with occasional overnights for incident response and/or regional technical support
- Company phone with after-hours regional technical support is expected
- Must be responsive and deliver timely, quality results appropriate to corporate risk related to system incidents or asset performance inputs
