Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Systems Engineer to support Undersea Maritime Systems as part of a cross-functional team. This hybrid role focuses on delivering end-to-end system engineering, from architecture through verification and validation, with on-site expectations to meet contract needs in McLeansville, NC.

Role Overview

You will participate in the full system engineering lifecycle, contributing to work that spans architecture through verification and validation within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Location and Workplace Options

  • McLeansville, NC (Hybrid/Flex)
  • Minimum 3 days per week in office in McLeansville, NC to support contract requirements

Compensation

  • Estimated annual salary range: USD 124,397 - 138,003 per year
  • Salary note: This estimate represents a typical salary range based on experience and other factors (including geographic location). Actual pay may vary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • or a Master's degree, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience

Security and Citizenship Requirements

  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire
  • Selected applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within company facilities

Preferred Experience and Skills

The company encourages applications from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Design and Qualification of electrical systems
  • Design and Qualification of optical systems
  • Electrical/Optical system design, including requirement allocation and decomposition
  • Requirements Lifecycle Management
  • Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) in CAMEO/Magic Draw
  • New product development and transition to manufacturing
