Job Description
The AI and Machine Learning Engineer I Graduate role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise is an onsite position in San Jose, CA focused on building AI/ML products and delivering data-driven solutions. The work spans data ingestion and data engineering, pipeline development, and applying machine learning and statistical modeling to improve product and system performance.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to surface opportunities for data-driven improvements and convert business needs into technical solutions.
- Ingest and integrate data from both structured and unstructured enterprise systems, including Databricks and IT data platforms.
- Design and build curated data models and analytical layers that enable reporting and downstream analytics.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain pipelines using SQL, Python, and orchestration tools.
- Clean, transform, and prepare datasets so they are reliable for business consumption.
- Maintain data quality and observability across pipelines, workflows, and storage layers.
- Integrate new data sources, APIs, and event streams into the platform.
- Create data documentation and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with modern data engineering tools, cloud technologies, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Master’s degree is desirable.
- Typically 0-2 years’ experience.
- Programming proficiency in Python, R, or Java.
- Highly beneficial: knowledge of AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Strong understanding of statistics, probability, linear algebra, calculus, and optimization methods for building and evaluating machine learning models.
- In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms and concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, neural networks, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing.
- Experience working with large datasets, including data pre-processing, data cleaning, and exploratory data analysis.
- Required: SQL and database experience, plus data visualization tools such as Matplotlib or Tableau.

Salary: USD 92,700 - 187,800 per yearly.
