AI Engineer

Derex Technologies Inc is seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join a distributed team delivering AI powered solutions. This remote role is based with a Chicago, IL footprint and focuses on developing and integrating applications with Large Language Models, building scalable APIs, and applying DevOps practices across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate applications with Large Language Models and other enterprise services.
• Utilize both front end and server side technologies to create APIs, implement DevOps practices, and optimize AI applications.
• Act as a subject matter expert with deep knowledge, offering influencing and advisory capabilities and guiding team decisions.
• Collaborate with multiple teams, contributing key decisions and providing cross‑team solutions.
• Demonstrate expert proficiency in Cloud Infrastructure.
• API design expertise is recommended.
• Leverage expertise in Google Cloud Data Services, Database Management, Front‑End Engineering, and Back‑End Development as appropriate.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications.
• Design and implement scalable APIs that enhance application performance.
• Apply DevOps best practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to teammates.
• Stay current with the latest trends in AI and cloud technologies to drive innovation.
