Job Description

JPI Companies is building out its Digital Workflows capabilities in Dallas, TX (onsite), modernizing how software is developed and delivered with AI. As an AI Engineer, you will build production-grade agentic systems, AI-powered applications, and system integrations that help turn business needs into shipped solutions with speed and quality. The role focuses on using approved enterprise AI tools and agentic development workflows as part of day-to-day engineering, while maintaining rigorous standards for testing, security, reliability, and maintainability.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, test, and ship production software, including integrations, internal applications, agents, and automations, using AI coding assistants and agentic development tools throughout development.
  • Convert business requirements into clear specifications, context, and constraints to guide AI tools toward accurate, maintainable outputs.
  • Review, test, and refactor AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability, staying accountable for what is committed and deployed.
  • Use AI to generate and maintain unit and integration tests, technical documentation, and code-review feedback.
  • Create reusable prompts, project context files, and workflows that improve AI-assisted development practices; evaluate new tools and models and recommend adoption when they improve quality, speed, or cost.
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain agents, RPA, and AI-powered applications using frameworks and protocols such as LangGraph and MCP.
  • Set and maintain guardrails for security, reliability, fairness, accuracy, observability, and traceability, and continue improving these over time.
  • Build scalable integrations using Workato, Flows for Apex, Python, Oracle Cloud, and REST APIs to coordinate flows between multiple systems.
  • Establish and maintain secure application connections, document integration flows and connections, and optimize performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical user stories; contribute to application development and implementation of key features or complex problems.
  • Design, test, and evaluate prompts and model configurations, iterating based on output quality, cost, and latency benchmarks.
  • Participate in Agile processes (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), peer code reviews, and technical decision making; collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver within sprint cycles.
  • Support business adoption of Agents and RPA by helping teams use capabilities effectively and monitoring feature usage.
  • Coordinate with UI developers to ensure integrations and agents align with UI needs, and share AI-assisted engineering best practices through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Use approved enterprise AI tools (examples include Claude and Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation.
  • Follow company data handling, confidentiality, and acceptable-use policies when working with AI tools and sensitive information.
  • Actively participate in AI training and adoption efforts; contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Hands-on experience building software with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools, including demonstrated ability to review, test, and validate AI-generated code.

  • Experience with any of: LangGraph, MCP, Agent Harness.
  • Experience with Workato.
  • Familiarity with any of: Workday, BuildingConnected, Procore, Airtable, Oracle Primavera Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Fabric, Power Platform, Azure.
