AI Engineer role focused on building and supporting AI tools across a legal team.

Design, build, and maintain AI-powered tools and workflows that address real business needs
Research and evaluate emerging AI models, platforms, and development tools, then recommend where they can be applied
Configure and manage AI platforms, including user roles, permissions, tool access, and appropriate safeguards
Deliver technical support for AI tools and incidents that require engineering-level troubleshooting beyond standard helpdesk
Train and guide employees on AI fundamentals, plus rollout of new tools and workflows
Partner with colleagues across the firm to capture requirements and turn them into accessible solutions
Use judgment across privacy, security, legal, and responsible AI considerations in a legal environment
Continuously maintain and improve existing solutions to keep them understandable, reliable, and useful over time
Share reusable approaches and contribute to the broader technical community when appropriate

Approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience with a strong software engineering background
Proven experience building projects or tools (professional or independent) and the ability to explain problem, approach, and outcomes
Experience with AI tools and platforms such as Claude and GPT; familiarity with Grok or other AI platforms is a plus
Experience with JavaScript and/or Python, including backend or full-stack development, APIs, or platform integrations
Ability to assess, debug, and maintain software, including code developed with AI assistance
Strong communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to audiences with different technical backgrounds
Sound judgment in an enterprise context, including awareness of access control, privacy, security, and legal considerations
UX experience or demonstrated interest in making tools intuitive and easy to use is a plus
Open-source contributions are valued but not required
