AI Engineer, Product

Build practical AI capabilities that teams can use every day. This hands-on role focuses on the product surface for agent-driven workflows, with an emphasis on trustworthy behavior, fast iteration, and close collaboration with users using real data. You will own the end-to-end experience of the tools and interfaces that bring AI into decision-making across Welltower.

Location: New York, NY (onsite)
Compensation: USD 160,000 - 220,000 per year

What you’ll do

• Build and ship the product surface, including agent-driven tools, interfaces, and workflow tooling used by teams to complete work and make decisions
• Design, tune, and evaluate agent behavior in the product to produce outputs that are trustworthy enough for users to act on
• Work embedded with users to translate real workflows into working software on real data
• Deliver useful output quickly, then iterate based on direct live feedback
• Create configurable, reusable surfaces instead of one-off rewrites, so each build speeds up the next
• Develop based on a live demo on real data as the specification, rather than relying on lengthy requirements documents

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 6+ years shipping production software, with the depth to own a product surface end to end
• Experience deploying an agent in a commercial production environment
• Background building data-dense, decision-support, or analytics products where users act on the output
• Ability to build quickly against messy, real data and iterate in front of users
• Based in the NYC metro area and able to work onsite
